Now that you all know some of our personal history, let me explain what the purpose of our blog is. We both really enjoy talking about current events and politics, and since we have been up here in Boone, we have tried to get really involved locally with some political and social groups. We both decided it would be a very good idea to express and, if we do a good enough job, bring about some awareness to the issues we discuss. Since moving on campus a few weeks ago, some of the groups I've joined, besides the ultimate Frisbee team, have been the College Democrats, Catholic Campus Ministry, and the Blue Ridge Conservancy. I'm active in Fossil Free Appstate, and have some ties to the Slow Food Club. Keith has gotten involved in the Cycling Club, College Republicans, ......, and is also a member of the Catholic CAmpus Ministry.

Hey guys, welcome to Uncommon Sense. We appreciate you checking out our blog. Let us introduce ourselves. I'm David Jennings, a Junior at Appalachian State University double majoring in History and Philosophy. Writing alongside me will be a very good friend of mine from high school: Keith Lawson. Keith and I really got to know each other when we started taking similar classes sophomore year in high school. From that point on we developed a friendship that relied mostly on what Keith likes to call "spirited" debates on a variety of different subjects. We soon realised we had one thing in common, and that one thing happened to be debating or arguing over any subject--literally any subject. So now that you know a little bit about myself, let me tell you a little about Keith. Keith is planning to major in business administration with a minor in marketing.
